THE LITTLE SPARROW & ETERNITY

A stranger (Angel) told me this story in 1997 causing me to return home like the Prodigal Son in the bible.

One of the most famous songs in history is called “Amazing Grace.”

Ephesians 2:8-9 (NLT) says,
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

The word “gospel” means “good news” and in summary means: “Jesus died so we can live.”

I want to share with you some key scriptures concerning salvation.

Romans 3:23-24 (NLT) says,
For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.

Romans 6:23 (NLT) says,
The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

John 3:16-17 says,
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

John 14:6, Jesus said,
“… I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Acts 4:12 (AMP) says:
And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among people by which we must be saved [for God has provided the world no alternative for salvation].

Romans 10:13 says:
Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

Friends, Jesus is the only way we can get to Heaven.

When Jesus died on the Cross to save us, paying the penalty for our sins, there was a robber on the other cross beside Him. That robber cried out to Jesus moments before he died, acknowledging Jesus as the Son of God. The robber also acknowledged that he was a sinner in need of God’s grace. Jesus responded to the robber, “‘Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise’” (Luke 23:43, NKJV).

No matter what you’ve done, or how long you’ve walked in sin, or how many times you’ve turned your back on God, you can get right with God today and have eternity in Heaven through Jesus.

Deuteronomy 30:19 (NLT) says,
“Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!”

PRAYER OF SALVATION

Choose Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Pray this prayer out loud with your mouth, and mean it in your heart:

God, I confess that I am a sinner, and I am in need of salvation.

I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son who died on the Cross for my sins. I believe He was buried in the tomb and that He rose again from the dead to bring me new life.

I ask to receive Your forgiveness and grace. I repent of my sins, and I choose to follow You as my Lord and Savior.

Jesus, I give You my heart and my life; come into me and make me new.

Holy Spirit, fill me and help me to follow and obey You every day and night of my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Congratulations! If you prayed that prayer and meant it in your heart, the Bible says you are a new creation!

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NLT) says, Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun.

WHAT NEXT?

I encourage you to get a Bible, and read it to find out more about Jesus and how to follow and obey Him.

A good place to start reading is the Gospel of John in the New Testament. Read your Bible daily.

Pray to God—He’s with you always. Talk like He’s right beside you, because He is!

God is everywhere. He’s now living in you, in your heart, in Heaven, right beside you, and all around you.

Find a good group of Christians to meet with and fellowship at church and/or in a home meeting.
